John Waters

Though director John Waters is most beneficial referred to as the auteur of traditional cult films like Green Flamingos, Polyester, and Hairspray, within the 2000s he began compiling holiday-themed collections of music that shared exactly the same kitschy, campy visual as his films. Compilations like 2004’s A John Waters Xmas and 2007’s A Time with John Waters acquired a similar mixture of novelty music, monitors by obscure performers, and classics in the ’50s and ’60s which the soundtracks to his movies had, proving once more which the “Pope of Garbage” comes with an exceptional ear, and eyes, to discover the best of bad flavor.
