A teenage fascination for calypso and flamenco music was converted into a successful profession as a manufacturer and critic of globe music by John Surprise Roberts. A graduate of Oxford School, where he gained a qualification in world dialects, Roberts started his profession by researching albums for the paper in Nairobi. Time for England, he guaranteed a position being a manufacturer of African music applications for the BBC. Emigrating to america in 1970, he discovered a job being a article writer for an African paper. This evolved in to the formation of the musical import firm, Authentic, which afterwards became Primary Music.
