John McLean

Jazz guitarist John McLean is really a well-traveled musician — raised both in Long Isle, NY, and Detroit, McLean then attended Berklee University of Music in Boston. Soon thereafter, McLean relocated to Florida (where he received his master’s level at the University or college of Miami in 1988), before going to Nova Scotia to instruct, and eventually, settling down in Chicago to spotlight his music. He consequently became among the area’s best jazz guitarists, playing on approximately 20 recordings by additional performers, including Chicago vocalists Terry Callier, Grazyna Auguscik, and Patricia Barber, in addition to performed on stage with Randy Brecker, Jane Ira Bloom, and Jerry Garnelli, amongst others. Sept 2001 saw the discharge of McLean’s debut single album, Easy Proceed, for the Premonition Information label.
