John Kaizan Neptune


John Kaizan Neptune is among today’s top experts from the Shakuhachi. This California indigenous can be a jazz musician and composer. He provides obtained respect in both East and Western world for his flexible and technically advanced melting container of noises. He started learning the Shakuhachi in Hawaii using a Japanese Buddhist priest in 1971. In 1973, Neptune visited Japan to keep his Shakuhachi research for one season, but then came back to Honolulu to finish a qualification in ethnomusicology. After graduation, Neptune journeyed once again to Kyoto and in March 1977, he received the “shi-han”, or master’s certificate, combined with the honorary name “Kaizan” this means Ocean Mountain. Since that time, John Kaizan Neptune provides made a tag in modern music as an musician of exploration and enlargement, using the Shakuhachi with several instrumentation from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Neptune provides toured THE UNITED STATES, European countries, Australia, and Asia. He also makes Shakuhachi as well as other bamboo instruments.
