John Gora

Created in Poland, John Gora emigrated to Hamilton, Ontario along with his family members in 1974, and began taking part in music in Orchard Park Extra College in Stoney Creek, Ontario. In 1979, Gora created a trio, playing regional Canadian Legion halls and providing to “continental” music crowds. John Gora and Gorale (Mountaineers), a six-piece music group, was set up in 1990 and documented their initial polka CD, Prepared for Takeoff, using a Polish/polka edition of “Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” getting their first strike. Have a Spin with John Gora and Gorale, their second studio room production, premiered in 1993, and their 1997 documenting, Duty Free of charge Polkas, was nominated for the Grammy within the polka category. “Appreciate DO NOT GET Better,” a polka cover of Vancouver nation musician Rick Tippe, quickly became the strike single. The music group includes five Canadians and something U.S. resident and performs throughout both countries. Active, crowd-pleasing stage shows have grown to be a trademark of the group. John Gora, his wife Dianne, and their kids have a home in Burlington, Ontario.
