John Densmore

John Densmore, obviously, was the drummer for the legendary Doorways, whom he joined with guitarist Robby Krieger following the two were recruited out of the music group called the Psychedelic Rangers. Although Densmore was possibly the least noticeable person in the group, his jazz schooling provided simple rhythmic shifts from the rock and roll norm, furthering the band’s exclusive sound. Following the Doorways’ dissolution, Densmore was pretty quiet; he caused Robby Krieger on / off, both on Krieger’s single albums and with the Butts Band. In newer years, Densmore penned the acclaimed Riders over the Storm: MY ENTIRE LIFE With Jim Morrison as well as the Doorways, an account from the band’s rise and fall from his very own perspective.
