John Cowan


John Cowan got his begin in Louisville, where he played in scrappy rock and roll outfits like PEOPLE and Louisville Audio Section. In 1974, he auditioned being a bassist and vocalist for New Lawn Revival, and as well as Sam Bush and afterwards bandmates Béla Fleck and Pat Flynn, led the charge from the 1980s’ bluegrass revival. New Lawn Revival disbanded in 1990 when Fleck departed for the single profession, but Cowan didn’t decelerate.
