John Carty

Blessed in London beneath the watchful eye of Irish parents, fiddler John Carty has generated himself one of the top notch in traditional music, so when a staunch supporter of its preservation. Carty created his like for fiddle, banjo, and flute — which he provides learned — through his multi-instrumentalist dad, who was an associate from the Glenside within the ’60s. At age 16, Carty discovered himself playing in periods with a few of Irish music’s finest, and begun to entertain the idea of relocating to Ireland. Immediately after settling in Boyle, State Roscommon, Carty released his 1996 debut, Last Night’s Fun, to reviews that are positive. In 1997 he became a member of At the Racquet — a great, loose, free-spirited dance music group named after a vintage Flanagan Brothers 78 rpm — which released a self-titled record in 1998. In 2000 he teamed up with guitarist Arty McGlynn and started focus on his sophomore discharge, Yeh, That’s All IT REALLY IS. His third record for Shanachie, At It Once again, found its way to 2003.
