John Carlini

Bluegrass and jazz acoustic guitarist John Carlini may be the boy of music artists. His dad was a violinist for the brand new York Philharmonic, his mom a concert pianist. He became thinking about bluegrass in his youngsters and came consuming bluegrass fiddler Tex Logan. Enlisting within the navy, he went to the Navy College of Music, after that toured within the U.S. Navy Present Band for 3 years. After departing the armed forces, he enrolled on the Berklee University of Music, that he graduated with a significant in organizing and structure, with electric guitar as his primary instrument. He constructed and orchestrated music for the 1978 film Ruler from the Gypsies and in addition appeared onscreen executing with Stephane Grappelli. He joined up with the David Grisman Quintet and performed for the group’s 1990 record Dawg ’90. In 1992, he orchestrated the music for the off-Broadway musical Tune of Singapore, offering as conductor and associate manufacturer of the initial cast record. In 1995, he documented a duo record with Tony Grain, River Suite for just two Guitars, released by Glucose Hill Records. Exactly the same season, he offered as arranger/conductor and performed guitar for the CMH record Plectrasonics with the Nashville Mandolin Outfit. He shaped the John Carlini Quartet with mandolinist Don Stiernberg, bassist Brian Glassman, and drummer Steve Holloway, and released the band’s debut record, The Game’s Afoot!, on FGM Information in 2003.
