John Betsch

A prolific, sound drummer who’s used several main free musicians within the ’70s,’80s and ’90s, John Betsch hasn’t landed the main label saving pact or visible gig that could get him even more recognition. Rather, he’s contented himself with intense, exceptional drumming on many first-rate classes. Betsch has used Billy Bang, Thomas Chapin, Marty Make, Marilyn Crispell, Abdullah Ibrahim and Steve Lacy amongst others. He presently has no classes available on Compact disc as a innovator, but could be heard around the times of Bang, Lacy, Crispell, and many more.
