Johannes Brassart

A French composer who served in or for Liege, the Council of Basle, Albert II, Frederick III and Tongres. The styles of his compositions — provided the time where he had written — are intensive and include actions from public, introductions to cathedral services, and several other sacred parts. In Brassart’s mass actions the Glorias and Credos demonstrate a synthesis; his motets are exclusively ornate.
