Johann Ritter von Herbeck

A self-taught musician who was simply known for his performing skill, choral music and efforts to Vienna’s music vitality. Herbeck do learn structure from Rotter in Vienna where he spent his summers learning for several years. At age 21 years old he started his musical profession and offered as choirmaster, movie director from the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde from 1859 to 1870 and agian when he been successful Brahm’s between 1875 and 1877, Franz Josef’s Hofkapelle, vice-Kapellmeister, and Kapellmeister finally directing the Vienna Courtroom Opera. Herbeck known the greatness of Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony” and organized for its efficiency and he also executed Wagner’s “Rienzi” and “Der Meistersinger.” Through his assistance, Bruckner was appointed being a teacher of counterpoint on the Vienna Conservatory.
