This German pianist and composer could study with Albrechtsberger when his family moved to Vienna in 1806. While there he fulfilled Beethoven, Meyerbeer, and Schubert. Pixis was popular as both a piano instructor so that as a virtuoso performer. Compositions that he have scored were mainly for the key pad in a shiny but derivative design. His music displays definite assets in Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven and however the majority of his functions lacked depth. “Les trois clochettes” was Pixis’ most performed function for piano. In 1823 Pixis transferred to Paris where he fulfilled Cherubini, Heine, Moscheles, Liszt, Halevy, Berlioz, and Rossini. Pixis added to “Hexameron” that have been variations on the march from Bellini’s “I Puritani” by six different composers. Various other collaborators included Chopin, Liszt, Czerny, Thalberg and Herz. In 1840 Pixis transferred to Baden-Baden where he continued to be for the others of his lifestyle giving instructions in piano.
