Johann Georg Lickl

Johann was the patriarch of a family group of Austrian music artists. He studied body organ with Witzig in Korneuburg and journeyed to Vienna in 1785 where he examined with Haydn and Albrechtsberger. Singspiel was his prominent form of structure and these compositions fulfilled with significant amounts of well-known achievement. “Fausts Leben,” “Der Durchmarsch,” and “Der Zauberpfeil” had been among his achievements. Johann also constructed sacred music including a Mass for the Empress Maria Theresia. His youngest musical kid, Aegidius, was well-liked being a instructor, conductor and operatic composer. Aegidius’ observed opera was “Todas las disfida di Berletta,” and his most widely known oratorio was entitled “Der Triumph des Christentums.”
