Johann Ernst Altenburg

Delivered in 1734, Johann Ernst Altenburg was a German trumpeter, organist, and composer. His essential contribution can be a treatise entitled Heroic and Musical Trumpeters’ and Kettledrummers’ Artwork, where he provides many specialized information, some quite obscure, regarding natural trumpet efficiency. His compositions consist of piano sonatas. It isn’t very clear if the trumpet functions stated in his treatise are his compositions. Altenburg passed away in 1801.
