Joey LaBeija

Joey LaBeija is a Bronx-born DJ who made a name for himself around 2014 along with his adventurous DJ units, which seamlessly combined numerous styles including reggaeton, R&B, and option rock and roll, along with intense, noisy bass and jagged beats similar to U.K. grime. After creating a monthly golf club night known as Legendary and playing gigs at MoMa PS1 and Brooklyn Museum, and getting press from famous brands FACT as well as the Fader, LaBeija released Shattered Dreams as an internet mixtape in August of 2015. Concentrating on even more spacious downtempo slashes rather than quicker club material, the discharge was a dark, psychologically heavy group of songs. After receiving very much acclaim from online music magazines, Shattered Dreams was released as a vinyl fabric EP by Crimson Tape Pedigree in early 2016.
