b. 27 Sept 1935, Puerta De Tierra, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The flexible Latin music group head, vocalist, percussionist and composer Quijano was seven years when his family members settled within the Bronx, NEW YORK, NY, USA. In 1950, while at college he sang and performed maracas using a teenage group arranged by Orlando Marín (b. 1934, the Bronx, NEW YORK, NY, USA, of Puerto Rican parentage; timbales) and pianist Eddie Palmieri.
