Joe Nolan began composing tracks in his hometown of Detroit in age 16. In 1992, he relocated to Nashville to become vocalist and songwriter. Within half a year of his introduction, he had authorized on as an employee writer in the Dark and White colored Music publishing company. He began starting shows for a number of performers, and in 2000 self-released his debut recording, Simple Jane, which he co-produced with Pat Flynn of New Lawn Revival.
