Joe Lally

Best known seeing that an associate of Fugazi, Joe Lally initial learned bass after viewing a Minor Risk present with Dag Nasty’s Peter Cortner, which prompted them to create a music group. In 1987 he became a member of up with Ian MacKaye, Brendan Canty, and Man Picciotto to create Fugazi, perhaps one of the most essential groups within the American underground picture. In 2002, as Fugazi was on hiatus, Lally met up with ex-Frodus people Shelby Cinca and Jason Hamacher as Dark Ocean and released an individual that season, immediately after changing their name to Decahedron and issuing a full-length, Disconnection Imminent, in 2004. That same season Lally became a member of up with John Frusciante and Josh Klinghoffer as Ataxia and released Auto Writing. In this same time frame Lally also went the tiny label Tolotta, which he primarily started in purchase to help deliver singles from rings who may have got trouble obtaining their music out in any other case, though he do end up placing out some full-lengths from performers like Nature Caravan and Stinking Lizaveta.
