Biography

b. c. 1952, Memphis, Tennessee, USA. As a kid Johnson sang within the cathedral choir and during his times as a higher school pupil he started playing saxophones. Afterwards, he researched music as Tennessee Condition University. Sketching his musical curiosity from gospel and modern R&B, he was inspired by jazz music artists as mixed as Charlie ‘Parrot’ Parker and Kirk Whalum, David Sanborn and Grover Washington Jnr. He started working being a program musician in Nashville, playing countless schedules within the jingle mills, and steadily building a name being a soft jazz participant. He toured as starting act for most big name performers of state music, spirit, R&B, gospel and jazz. As Johnson created a reputation being a soft jazz participant, his stylistic mix ranged through his previously interests in addition to hiphop, all smoothed right into a fashionable entire. 1 Answered an ad while a student at Cal State-Long Beach, which was looking for employees. That ad was for George Lucas whom Johnston became acquainted with. He was employed a storyboard artist who would watch Lucas do his editing. Eventually, Johnston decided to leave Lucas' company and travel with the money he had saved up. But Lucas suggested that he go to USC film school (his alma mater), which Lucas would get him to the front of the line for applicants, pay for his tuition, and keep Johnston as a part time employee with his salary. Johnston said he would have been crazy not to accept the offer and immediately said yes.
