Lively indie pop ensemble Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers shaped this year 2010 in Support Pleasant, Michigan. Hertler, students at Central Michigan University or college at that time, started performing his tunes acoustically around mid-Michigan, collecting bandmates on the way. Splitting time taken between his songwriter and DJ’ing digital units, Hertler’s eclectic affects can be noticed in his band’s varied audio, which pulls components from folk, funk, ’90s R&B, spirit, and powerful indie pop. After a small number of solo acoustic initiatives, Hertler teamed up with bassist/manufacturer Kevin Pritchard and a recently expanded staff to record the initial release beneath the Rainbow Seekers banner, 2011’s On Getting. They spent another year or two touring and gigging the Midwestern celebration circuit, ultimately relocating to Lansing, Michigan. Quickly before completing focus on their second record, they were found by Universal affiliate marketer Bad Mascot Information. Their sophomore LP, Terra Incognita, premiered in early 2015.
