Joe Cocuzzo

b. Joseph G. Cocuzzo, 17 Sept 1937, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Elevated in a family group of enthusiastic novice musicians, Cocuzzo started playing drums as a little child. He later on studied thoroughly, and played in lots of bands around his city. In the past due 50s, now surviving in Chicago, he became a member of the best music group led by Ralph Marterie before shifting towards the Woody Herman music group. In the first 60s he caused Don Ellis, Les and Larry Elgart, Gary McFarland and Tony Bennett. Within the middle-70s he came back to Bennett for the five-year engagement, after that he was with Harry Adam before you begin a decade-long spell with Rosemary Clooney. The simple abilities he displayed with Bennett and Clooney discovered him popular being a singer’s accompanist and he also caused Vic Damone, Julius LaRosa, Susannah McCorkle and Sylvia Syms. Throughout this era and on through the brand new millennium, Cocuzzo is at regular demand for documenting sessions, showing up on albums by many performers including Pal De Franco and Dick Sudhalter. During his period with Clooney Cocuzzo acquired begun writing melody lyrics, and he continued to collaborate with many composers, notably the Brazilian Ivan Lins. A simple and swinging participant, always alert to the subtly supportive part needed by many market leaders, especially performers, Cocuzzo has made an appearance on several recordings.
