Jochewed Schwarz

Jochewed Schwarz can be an Israeli harpsichordist. A graduate from the Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv College or university, she researched piano with Edith Kraus and harpsichord with Boris Berman. She also went to the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, Switzerland, where she researched with Rolf Junghanns, Christiane Jaccottet, and Emer Buckley. She’s also studied historic instrument building and maintenance, dealing with Reinhard von Nagel in Paris. Schwarz performs on harpsichord, clavichord, and fortepiano, and she actually is active like a soloist and chamber musician, regularly taking part in early music celebrations and concert series. She’s performed with Conrad Steinmann, Chiara Banchini, Katharina Arfken, and Sally Fortino, and she’s documented a two-harpsichord edition of François Couperin’s Les Countries with Emer Buckley on Toccata Classics.
