Joanne Dru

b. Joanne Letitia LaCock, 31 January 1922, Logan, Western world Virginia, USA, d. 10 Sept 1996, Beverly Hillsides, LA, California, USA. After shifting to NY in 1940 Dru proved helpful being a model and in addition danced in displays, including Al Jolson’s STORE Your Hats. After marrying vocalist Dick Haymes in 1941 she relocated to Hollywood where she made an appearance in films through the mid-40s, many of them westerns, including Abie’s Irish Rose (1946), Crimson River (1948), She Wore A Yellow Ribbon (1949), ALL OF THE King’s Guys (1949), Wagon Get good at (1950), Vengeance Valley (1951), Mr. Belvedere Bands The Bell (1951), Come back FROM THE Texan (1952), and Thunder Bay (1953). She performed the title part in Hannah Lee (1953), even though film was consequently retitled Outlaw Place. Her co-star with this film was John Ireland, who was simply her second spouse (the couple had been collectively from 1949 to 1957). Dru made an appearance in films from your 50s to the 80s. Of these same years she made several appearances on tv where her performing talents had been better used, like the episode series Pulitzer Reward Playhouse, Studio room 57, The Ford Tv Theater, Schlitz Playhouse Of Celebrities, Lux Video Theater, Matinee Theatre, and Disneyland. (1960), Burke’s Legislation (1964), The Green Hornet (1967) and Marcus Welby, M.D. (1975). Her sibling is acting professional and Hollywood Squares video game show sponsor Peter Marshall.
