Jo Freya

b. Jo-Anne Rachel Newmarch Fraser, 4 Dec 1960, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, Britain. Among the leading statistics in the united kingdom folk revival from the past due twentieth hundred years, Freya is similarly adept on saxophone, clarinet and whistles, and can be a vocalist and composer. Originally showing up under her delivery name, she started executing live with the pioneering nation dance ensemble the Aged Swan Music group at age 13, joining at exactly the same time as her sister Fi Fraser. When the Aged Swan Music group was placed on hiatus in the middle-80s, Freya started dealing with the similarly innovative Blowzabella and its own spin-off action Scarp. Freya was especially productive through the pursuing decade, launching her single debut, Traditional Music Of Britain, in 1993, documenting duo albums with her sister (as the Fraser Sisters), cellist Kathryn Locke and singer-songwriter Pete Morton, and developing the all-female rings Token Females and Freyja. In the first years of the brand new millennium, she documented an album within Tanteeka and collaborated with Coope, Boyes And Simpson, Fi Fraser and Georgina Boyes within the 2006 seasonal collection Voices At THE ENTRANCEWAY: Midwinter Tunes & Carols.
