b. Monte Maloney, 1912, USA, d. March 1962, Dallas, Tx, USA. Created in the middle-20s in Tx, the Jimmy Pleasure Orchestra required its name following its innovator’s association using the Joyland Recreation area in Galveston, Tx, where a lot of their early concerts occurred. Maloney later transformed his name to Jimmy Pleasure by deed poll in Kansas Town in 1929. His orchestra, including sidemen Gilbert O’Shaughnessy, Hollis Bradt, Jack port Dark brown, Rex Preis, Lynn Harrell, Clyde Austin, Johnny Cole, Dick Hammell, Amos Ayalisa, Norman Smith, Matty Matlock, Orville Andrews, Ernie Mathias, Al Ruler, Oscar Reed, Elmer Nordgreen and Oscar Miller, was originally created on campus in the University or college of Texas. They might find receptive viewers at a number of Midwest and southern locales, like the Muehlbach, the Peabody, the Baker and Adolphus resorts.
