Jim Staley

Jim Staley occupies a distinctive placement among trombonists, crossing styles freely between post-modern classical music and avant-garde jazz. He offers spectacular technique, like the capability to spit forth clusters of records at rapid rate. Usually focusing in the mid-to-lower registers from the trombone, his big, gruff shade hearkens to a youthful period, though his wondrous capabilities and style flower him securely in the free of charge music world. Elevated in Illinois, Staley offered in the military as an associate of the U.S. Military Music group in Berlin, before getting Bachelor and Experts levels in music in the School of Illinois in the past due 1970s. Since 1978, Staley provides resided in lower Manhattan, where he provides positively performed and documented with many leading edge innovators, including composer/alto saxophonist John Zorn, guitarist Elliott Clear, and vocalist Shelley Hirsch. Furthermore to recordings under his command, he shows up on many of Zorn’s CDs. He also performs and information using a traditional ensemble, the Build Road Ramblers.
