A talented guitarist from Manitowoc, WI, Jim Krueger first attained notoriety with Dave Mason as his second guitarist and occasional co-songwriter. He used Mason in the mid-’70s through the entire early ’80s and was in charge of composing Mason’s biggest strike “We Simply Disagree,” which produced Dave Mason a staple on pop radio. Krueger appeared to suit well in to the L.A. pop/rock and roll world as he also do periods with pop flutist Tim Weisberg and guitarist Les Dudek. He released a single record in 1978 known as Sugary Salvation which additional substantiated his pop affinities. It had been recorded with key pad whiz Michael Omartian in addition to Mike Finnegan, with whom he proved helpful in Mason’s music group with whom he’d share the costs in his following task the Dudek, Finnegan, Krueger Music group whose self-titled debut premiered in 1980. It had been another excursion into slick Western world Coast-styled pop, but didn’t receive significant interest, likely because of the quickly shifting musical environment of this period. After nearly ten years of inactivity and obscure program function, Jim Krueger would re-emerge in the first ’90s as an integral member (“Otto”) from the novelty/club music group the Happy Schnapps Combo, located in his city of Manitowoc. He created the Combo’s 1st two albums, 100 Resistant (1991) and Increase It! (1992), before his untimely loss of life in 1993.
