An admired soloist, chamber musician, and instructor, flutist Jill Felber established fact for her participation with modern music, as well as for commissioning and executing new works on her behalf instrument. Students of Keith Bryan, Judith Bentley, and Wayne Galway, Felber gained her degrees from your University or college of Michigan and Bowling Green Condition University or college; trained at Ohio University or college, Capital University or college, and Wright Condition University or college; and held many worldwide residencies. For six periods she performed using the Detroit Modern Outfit, and collaborated numerous composers, including Lukas Foss, Gunther Schuller, George Rochberg, and William Bolcom, among numerous others. She’s toured thoroughly with Claudia Anderson in the flute duo, ZAWA!, and performed at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and several academic locations. In the 1990s, Felber became a member of the faculty from the School of California, Santa Barbara as teacher of flute and movie director of the blowing wind program, and in addition became primary flutist using the Santa Barbara Grand Opera.
