Jewel King

b. c. 1923, perhaps Louisiana, USA. An earthily unsophisticated vocalist, King produced some well-received recordings in the past due 40s and early 50s. One of the best-known is certainly ‘3 x 7 = 21’, supported with ‘Don’t Marry As well Shortly’, a 78 released in 1949 that became an area strike in New Orleans. She also documented ‘Broke My Mom’s Guideline’/‘I’ll Obtain It’, ‘Interest Blues’/‘Maintain Your Big Mouth area Shut’ and ‘I Like A Fellow’/‘Low Down Sense’, all in 1950 and everything for Imperial Information. She followed through to these using a tour through Louisiana and in addition visited neighbouring Tx and Oklahoma. She also documented ‘I Cried’ and ‘Simply TO BECOME HOUSE WITH You’.
