b. Jessie Mae Booker, 1 Oct 1919, Call, Tx, USA, d. 26 Oct 1966. A songwriter whose compositions had been recorded from the main R&B artists from the post-World Battle II period, Robinson was mostly of the dark songwriters to break the color barrier, and published several hits for main pop stars from the 50s. She grew up in LA and there wedded Leonard Robinson. At R&B hits made up by Jessie Mae Robinson had been ‘Aged Maid Boogie’ (Eddie Vinson, 1947), ‘Blue Light Boogie’ (Louis Jordan, 1950), ‘Two times Crossing Blues’ (Small Esther And Johnny Otis, 1950), ‘Dark Night time’ (Charles Dark brown, 1951), ‘Roomin’ Home Boogie’ (Amos Milburn, 1949) and ‘Sneakin’ Around’ (B.B. Ruler, 1955). Robinson’s many successful track, ‘I VISITED Your Wedding ceremony’ (1952), released her career within the pop marketplace. The song was initially documented by Damita Jo, and Patti Page managed to get lots 1 pop strike. Other pop achievement was included with Jo Stafford (‘Preserve It A Key’, 1952), Frankie Laine (‘I’m ONLY A Poor Bachelor’, 1953), and both Wanda Jackson and Elvis Presley (‘Allow’s POSSESS A Party’, 1957).
