Ideal remembered for his 1976 nation radio hit “Honky Tonk Ladies Love Redneck Guys,” singer/guitarist Jerry Jaye was created Gerald Hatley in Manila, AK, on Oct 19, 1937; after a small number of indie recordings, he surfaced on Hello there Information in 1967 using the rockabilly-influenced My Female Josephine, achieving the Best 30 using the name monitor (a cover from the Extra fat Domino strike) before spending almost a decade from the limelight. Resurfacing on Columbia in 1975, Jaye notched a hit using a cover from the Tommy Edwards chart-topper “It’s All in the overall game,” time for Hi the next season with Honky Tonk Females Love Redneck Guys before once again receding from watch.
