Jenny Queen

Biography

b. South Vienna, Ohio, USA. Singer-songwriter Queen demonstrated little desire for nation music as a young child and a carrying out career seemed quite a distance away once the British Books graduate was completing a MA in International Relationships from your University or college of Chicago. After spells in London, Britain and NY, Queen relocated to Australia like a volunteer and it had been right here that she all of a sudden decided she wished to create songs. Despite becoming barely in a position to play a drum rather than having sung in public areas before, she teamed up with regional songwriter Sam Shinazzi for several productive writing classes. Queen’s demo materials came to the eye of local self-employed label Laughing Outlaw, who authorized the designer and commissioned an recording before she experienced actually performed a live single display. Her 2003 debut, Ladies Who Cry Require Wedding cake, was a slick assortment of nation pop material similar to Canadian superstar Jewel.

#Quote
1 [on the state of film in 2012] Everything now is escapism, because that's where the money is. There is a vacuum for serious drama. The mid-budget serious drama is something you don't experience anymore.
2 These heavy movies, you carry them with you. Some days, when it would be great to chill and be a mom and just crash, I'm so wired, I can't turn it off. I would love to do a comedy again, it would be so much fun. Do people know that? Let's tell 'em!
3 Choosing these kinds of intense roles is becoming sort of a bad habit. Playing the average manic-depressive woman who's hitting 40 - yep, that'd be me. Bring it on! But I think what it is, really, is that [Hollywood] sees you do certain roles and says, 'Okay, that's her, let's cast her again and again as the same thing.' Then you wind up saying, 'I'd like to do something else,' and they whine, 'But why?'
4 On working on the soap Santa Barbara (1984). "I don't want to knock it. It's been great. This has been my acting class - and paid training ain't bad."
5 Famous is celebrityism and I don't want that. I know that I'm not that. Everybody knows who you are, I can't imagine living that life.
