Among the leading jazz and Brazilian music vocalists in the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay region, Jennifer Lee offers plied her trade regionally even though building credits and a discography with neighborhood players and sector heavyweights. Blessed August 6, 1964, in Redwood Town, CA, Lee started learning music beginning at age group four on the piano directed at the family members by her grandfather. Her mom was extremely supportive in her music education as Lee employed piano and electric guitar while participating in Ladera Elementary, La Entrada Junior Great, and Woodside and Menlo Atherton Great Academic institutions, graduating in 1982. Her piano instructor as an adolescent was Glen Spencer; she enrolled at Foothill J.C. and was instructed by Terry Summa and Nile Norton; and she also communed with acclaimed jazz vocalist Kitty Margolis. She after that going for the School of Massachusetts, which she went to up to 1989, playing keyboards in her university jazz rings and later finding her singing skill. She fell consuming Tag Murphy while hearing his shows, and received tone of voice training from Jane Clear for over ten years. Lee’s acknowledged affects include performers Sarah Vaughan, Betty Carter, and Anita O’Day, aswell as instrumentalists João Gilberto, Stan Getz, Mls Davis, Chick Corea, Artwork Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, and R. Carlos Nakai. Her preliminary recordings were in the compilation Quint-Essential, as she was among five female performers upon this collection arranged by Cathi Walkup. Lee performed in the trio known as Doce Brazil in the first 2000s with guitarist/arranger Hugo Wainzinger and percussionist Claudio Bebianno. She’s also caused Duncan Moore, Buca Necak, Raul Ramirez, Tripp Sprague, John Shifflett, Tommy Aros, and Jason Lewis. Peter Sprague and Bob Magnusson will be the primary associates of her Southern California music group, while John Stowell and Jeff Johnson comprise her Pacific Northwest combo. Her CDs being a head consist of Jaywalkin’ from 2003 and this year’s 2009 recording Calm Joy.
