Jeff Lorber

Using a smooth sound combining components of funk, R&B, rock and roll, and electric jazz, keyboardist Jeff Lorber helped pioneer a genre of fusion afterwards formatted under such names as NAC and contemporary jazz. Blessed in Philadelphia on November 4, 1952, he started playing the piano at age four, so when a teenager performed with a number of local R&B rings.
