Jeanne Cherhal


Vocalist/songwriter Jeanne Cherhal was created in Nantes, France, in 1978. She was raised within the French countryside with her sister and middle-class parents. Following a short flirtation with ballet, Jeanne resolved on piano as her desired artistic manifestation. By age 14 she had been performing around the region with rock organizations, inspired by performers like Björk, Tori Amos, and Sonic Youngsters. Though she analyzed at university, eventually getting her M.A. within the beliefs, she spent significant period focusing on her musical profession. While still unidentified she was asked to accompany chanson superstar Georges Moustaki. Her spunky schoolgirl picture made the feeling on the market, a graphic that she’d employ through the entire first stages of her profession. Things begun to remove in 2000, Cherhal earning the “Truffe d’Argent de Perigueux” prize for newcomer of the entire year, and between 2000 and 2001 she obtained a popularity as great live performer. Her debut premiered in 2002, a “reside in concert” documenting made the prior calendar year. The 2004 record Douze Fois par An provided Cherhal in ensemble for the very first time, using a tempo section within a move toward pop’s mainstream. The record arrived her possibilities to collaborate with Europop superstar M and Jacques Higelin, with whom she’d travel thoroughly. An exhaustive touring timetable created Cherhal’s second live record, Jeanne Cherhal a la Cigale, released in March of 2005. Following a short foray in to the movie theater, via Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues, Cherhal released her third studio room album, L’Eau, made by French vocalist Albin de la Simone, in 2006.
