Jean-Joseph Cassanéa de Mondonville

Mondonville was a favorite People from france violinist whose instrumental profession was established through many general public and court shows from 1734-39. Payment information display that he performed at least 100 concerts at Versailles, Compiegne, Fontaine-bleau and Marly in 1739 only. Not only is it a significant performer, Mondonville created operas and grand motets in the Academie Royale de Musique. He also worked well in the Theater des Petits-Cabinets. He was gladly wedded for 25 years to a fellow musician, Anne-Marie Boucon. Mondonville didn’t create a great level of work, however, many of his compositions had been extremely popular. His opera =Le carnaval du Parnasse was performed 35 occasions in 1749 and was revived often in the next years. His most widely known compositions are his =Items de clavecin avec voix ou violin= and =Items de clavecin en sonates= because they combine the features essential for the effective performance of both violin as well as the harpsichord.
