A top-notch sideman and songwriter, Jay Owens also enjoyed acclaim being a single artist. Given birth to Isaac Jerome Owens in Lake Town, Florida on Sept 6, 1947, he discovered to sing within the chapel where his mom presided as minister; at age 11, he received his first acoustic guitar, and began carrying out professionally during high school.
