Jar-E

A multi-instrumentalist whose abilities include upright bass, trumpet, piano, and electric guitar, Jar-E fuses components of jazz, reggae, worldbeat, and pop/rock and roll into his hybridized music. While participating in Warren Wilson University in Asheville, NC, the musician started performing using a quintet that melded hip-hop and jazz with components of rock and roll, a combination that could afterwards inform the audio of his single materials. The band’s reputation helped elevate Jar-E’s position in the Asheville music picture, enabling him to protected a record offer several years later on for his follow-up group, the Jar-E Quartet. After documenting a three-song demonstration, Jar-E remaining his quartet behind and journeyed to European countries, where he spent half a year journeying and crafting the debut record Heartache. Then returned house and established to focus on a second discharge, 2007’s sample-heavy Battle Songs as well as the Muse. Following the discharge of his sophomore record, Jar-E loaded his bags once more and trekked through Greece, Cuba, and Britain, collecting motivation for another record on the way. He then resolved in Mexico, where Chicas Malas was created. Recorded within a transformed barn with longtime manufacturer Keith Saunders, the record exchanged in the experimental noises of War Tracks for the organic audio of Jar-E’s concert events.
