Mexican Latin pop singer Jan (given birth to Gustavo Cárdenas Avila) began singing at age 14 along with friends in his indigenous Celaya, soon moving towards the U.S. to review music. When Jan came back to Mexico, he became a member of a local music group known as Sombras. In 1996, after executing in a favorite TV show known as Siempre En Domingo, the youthful artist had the chance to join up to PolyGram, producing his debut in 1997 using a self-titled record, accompanied by Acariciame Un Alma. Furthermore, Jan became a Latin cleaning soap opera celebrity after taking part in Thereforeñadoras, DKDA, Mi Destino Eres Tú, and La Intrusa.
