Jan Carlo DeFan was raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he started to play acoustic guitar on the early age of five. By 12 he was saving he and his sister Elan’s shows with cobbled-together apparatus; by 16, he was the youngest A&R rep in the annals of Warner Mexico. DeFan ultimately resigned from Warner and parlayed his abilities into handling his sister’s burgeoning profession. Shifting to California, the duo created a production firm and go about documenting and marketing Elan’s debut LP, Road Child, which fell in-may 2003. DeFan created the established, and played electric guitar, bass, and piano throughout.
