Jamie Baum

An extraordinary improviser, Jamie Baum’s 1997 GM discharge View Unheard helped introduce her abilities to some wider jazz market. Baum earned a qualification from the brand new Britain Conservatory of Music where she examined with Dave Liebman, Richie Beirach, Hubert Laws and regulations and Jaki Byard amongst others. Living in NY since the middle-1980’s, she’s performed numerous top music artists including Paul Motian, Randy Brecker, George Russell, John Abercrombie, Kenny Werner, Fred Hersch, Tom Harrell, Kenny Barron and Dave Douglas. Her debut documenting as a head was Undercurrents (for the German Konnex label) and she also made an appearance on schedules led by Ed Jackson and Dave Binney before leading her highly-rated GM Compact disc.
