James Ray initial appeared on the 1986 Sisters of Mercy aspect task called The Sisterhood, and he formed Adam Ray & the Efficiency immediately after, to record an record for the Sisters’ label Merciful. He implemented it with another Merciful record, recorded by Adam Ray’s Gangwar, and held the group jointly for another LP, 1997’s Psychodalek.
