Vocalist/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist James Huggins III (aka James Hubby) is normally a founding person in the Athens, GA-based psychedelic pop combo Great Lakes, and a contributing person in other prominent indie pop rings with ties towards the ever-expanding Elephant 6 family members tree, including Ladybug Transistor, the Essex Green, Marshmallow Coastline, and Of Montreal (the last mentioned which provided Huggins along with his longest tenure). Throughout many of these stints, Huggins constructed and documented his very own music, providing handmade single cassettes combined with the essential band merchandise for the most part Of Montreal displays. Written and documented more than a 12-calendar year period, his initial “formal” solo record, A Parallax I, found its way to 2009 in the Polyvinyl label.
