Wayne Williams got the nickname “D-Train” while a high college football celebrity in Brooklyn. He teamed with keyboardist Hubert Eaves, III from 1981 to 1985 as D-Train, plus they liked two Best 20 and one Best R&B hit throughout their tenure. Williams got one Top 10 and one Best 20 R&B one from 1986 to 1988 on Columbia, with “Misunderstanding” peaking at #10.
