Biography
James (given birth to Might 12, 1944) and Bobby (given birth to Sept 2, 1939) of the Southern spirit duo weren’t actually brothers but cousins. Adam Purify and Robert Lee Dickey became a member of forces for a few classic Southern spirit duets through the middle-’60s. Manufacturer Papa Don Schroeder brought the soulful Floridians to Muscle tissue Shoals in 1966 to record at Rick Hall’s Popularity studios, and the effect was the beautiful mid-tempo “I’m Your Puppet.” The Dan Penn/Spooner Oldham ballad demonstrated their biggest strike for the Bell label, although “Allow Love Arrive Between Us” and their revival from the Five Du-Tones’ “Tremble a Tail Feather” also produced some major sound in 1967. When Bobby mutinied, Adam went it by itself for some time before recruiting a fresh Bobby (Ben Moore), plus they picked up best where the outdated duo still left off.
