Jamaica are an electro-tinged France indie rock and roll duo who made their full-length record debut this year 2010. Located in Paris, France, the duo is normally made up of Antoine Hilaire (vocals, electric guitar) and Flo Lyonnet (bass, vocals), who passed the name Poney Poney for the many years before changing their name to Jamaica in ’09 2009. As Poney Poney, they produced their commercial documenting debut in 2006 with “Junior,” a divide one on Arcade Setting made by Xavier de Rosnay in the Ed Banger Information flagship action Justice. Even more notably, they released the Combination the Fader EP on Perspex Recordings in 2008 as well as the When Perform You Wanna GO WRONG? EP on Institubes in ’09 2009. Upon changing their name to Jamaica, Hilaire and Lyonnet produced their commercial documenting debut using that moniker using the one “I BELIEVE I LOVE U 2” on Cooperative Music this year 2010. Around once, their melody “Brief and Entertaining” was highlighted on Kitsuné Maison Compilation 9. Shortly thereafter, Jamaica produced their full-length record debut without Problem (2010). Made by de Rosnay and Peter Franco, the record includes new variations of “Combination the Fader” and various other previously released Poney Poney materials. In 2014, Jamaica came back using their sophomore record, Ventura, that was documented partially within a rented home on Ventura Boulevard in LA, and in Paris with Laurent d’Herbecourt.
