Jamaica Papa Curvin

b. 1943, Harewood, Jamaica, Western world Indies. Curvin primarily nurtured his percussion abilities through his regional drum corps. By his eighteenth birthday he was broadly considered as perhaps one of the most talented drummers in Jamaica. His abilities were recognized when his brigade was triumphant in the annual Band-Poll Of Jamaica. Prompted by his achievement Curvin made a decision to pursue a profession in music and primarily performed to holidaymakers on luxury cruise liners. His encounters on voyages all around the globe allowed him to master his drumming abilities. Inspired with the reputation of reggae in European countries, he made a decision to settle there. He shortly found are a program drummer and was afterwards utilized by Frank Farian to supply musical accompaniment towards the pop music group Boney M. In 1981, Curvin embarked by himself musical tasks and by 1984 got shaped the Jamaica Papa Curvin Music group in Hamburg. These were widely regarded as Germany’s leading reggae clothing and toured consistently. Curvin eventually quit drumming to focus on business lead vocals and, in the later 80s, embarked on the solo profession. He released the critically acclaimed Large Fill in 1994.
