Jacqueline Dankworth

The little girl of Uk jazz-pop vocalist Cleo Laine and saxophone/clarinet player John Dankworth, Jacqueline Dankworth continues to determine her own legacy being a highly-talented jazz/pop vocalist. Her debut record, First Cry, released in 1994, was a cooperation with jazz vibraphonist Anthony Kee, while her second work, Field Of Blue, released in 1995, was documented at London nightclub, Ronnie Scott’s, with songwriting partner Harvey Brough, previously with Harvey AS WELL AS THE Wallbangers, Martin Brunsden on bass and didgeridoo and John F. Miller on piano. A follow-up record using the same music artists, Still, premiered in 1997. Introducing her profession, as an celebrity, in the middle-1980s, Dankworth made an appearance in lots of productions using the Royal Shakespeare Firm. A normal performer in the theaters of London’s Western world End, she made an appearance in such displays as the Ellington revue, Advanced Girls, Stephen Sondheim’s IN TO THE Woods and Christopher Hampton’s Les Liasons Dangereuses. Embracing music, Dankworth toured the Orient using the Alec and Jacqui Dankworth Quintet, an organization she shaped with her sibling, Alec. She later on toured India using the John Dexter Business and distributed a duo with pianist David Gordon. In 1996, she toured, along with Monica Vasconcelos, Norma Winstone and Christine Tobin, in saxophonist Tim Garland’s musical creation, Songs Of Like And Hatred.
