Jackson Heights

This UK band was formed in 1970 by bass player/vocalist Lee Jackson (b. Keith Lee Jackson, 8 January 1943, Newcastle upon Tyne, Britain) for the dissolution from the Great. His new enterprise pursued a far more pop-orientated route than its virtuoso-based forerunner, but despite prolific live function and four well-promoted albums, an unpredictable line-up hampered the music group’s ultimate improvement. Early people Charlie Harcourt (acoustic guitar), Mario Tapia (acoustic guitar) and Tommy Sloane (drums) had been replaced by some fresh inductees, including multi-instrumentalists John McBurnie and Brian Chatton, non-e of who was simply in a position to halt Jackson’s ailing fortunes. Nevertheless, having determined that fresh addition Patrick Moraz (b. 24 June 1948, Villars-Ste-Croix, Morges, Switzerland) performed a keyboard design unsuited towards the mainly melodic device, Jackson remaining his creation in 1974 to form Refugee around his fresh finding’s dexterous technique. His previous colleagues briefly continuing beneath the truncated name Heights before splitting up.
